it has been probably more than a decade that Barcelona-based Mexican electronic musician and web personality, VATE has been chronicling the development of Latin American electronic music, mostly from his very comprehensive site Metro Electrónica. Within this project, Vate presents now his second podcast featuring, among others, Bleepolar, Fernando Lagreca and our very own Hermetic Sound. Its organisation was entrusted to Red.es and its purpose, within the framework of the Avanza Plan, is to develop and boost the Spanish Digital Content Industry, with special emphasis on Spanish speaking markets. For this reason it has become the benchmark meeting place for professionals from the fields of television, film, music, interactive digital leisure, animation, education, audio-visual production, digital publications, user generated content (UGC), social networks, the blogosphere, interactive advertising, etc. The entire value chain of the sector is represented: distribution, devices, finance, training, internationalisation, audiences, pay per view media, public policies, digital television, audiences, e-commerce, etc.
The 15,000 plus attendees and almost 300 accredited communication media representatives at the 2009 edition are proof of the growing interest in FICOD.
